I didn't watch, but came across the monologue. Some good ones and didn't want to pollute the Only Good Stuff thread with political jokes.

When I first heard he was hosting the ESPY's... kind of shocked by it. Shane Gillis was Shane Gillis last night. I thought it was hilarious. I would guess many at Disney/ESPN/ABC did not. I suspect if that's true, depending on who's pissed, there will be some firings.
Maybe they were prepared for it, and knew exactly what he was going to say though? And wanted all the buzz and smoke?
Gillis calling Nick Saban Alabama Jones on the CFP gameday was one of the single funniest lines I've ever heard.

Without a doubt.

@receipt-keeper So awesome
I only saw a clip on Twitter, because there are few things in life worse than the ESPY's, but his delivery seemed rough and the material forced and not all that funny to me. Maybe I saw the worst of it, but the clip was shared by someone thinking it was hilarious, so...

Rough and forced material is kind of his thing. I think people either find hilarious or hate it. Not many many people in the middle.

Outstanding set. One of the best award show opening monologues of all time.
But he needs to comment on the audience reaction a little less. Sometimes it’s funny, but he was doing it after every joke last night.
