Bear with me as I zoom out of this latest rescission package wrt public broadcasting and look at in the larger landscape of Trump budget cuts. It seems like another leg in the stool of the Democratic Party power base that is being kicked out from underneath them.
From the USAID slush fund, to University funding to NPR and PBS the Democratic party had built a cultural and monetary power infrastructure that is largely dependent on U.S. tax dollars.
Trump is ripping that away from them. They will be forced to fight on a level playing field. No wonder Mark and Goat are so pissed. That’s scary as hell.

I did not know this was an issue or that Federal govt. stole money from us to fund TV and radio that most don't watch. What's funny is I was on I-95 vacation from boston to NC last week and while in DC some guy wanted to do a interview to gather opinions on this matter. His Microphone had NTN on it. Don't know what it was for but sure I answered his questions. I'm sure I looked dumb but answered his questions.
Seems like CBS will have some late night time slots to pay PBS for airing this material. Anything from Ken Burns is better than anything from Colbert. Monday can be Ken Bruns night. Tuesday can be British TV night, etc, etc, etc....
Maybe PBS should have a subscription app like everyone else does these days. They probably already do or get affiliations like amazon Live channels, Tablo, Roku Live channels to include them in their internet channels.
