Great Barrington Declaration, which is one of the subjects in this thread and which I touted soon as I read about it.
I read every one of your post, of the threads that I open.
You supported the GBD less than a week ago, right? I do not recall you mentioning that before that. Maybe you can site your own stance on this. I very well could have missed it.
Uh no. Are you kidding? It came out in 2020 when we were on the old WC. I had several arguments with Marvin and I think Uncle Mark who didn't like the idea at all because IIRC, they didn't think it would be possible to just protect the vulnerable. They can chime in if they want, but I think I was right then and I still think I was right about the GBD. Not all scientist agreed with it, but it made the most sense to me and would have been a lot less disruptive to society.
It's nice that you read my posts. Maybe you should work on the memory muscle. 😉
Edit to add. Now that I think about the GBD, I might have been the first person on the old WC to link it and to support it.

@joe_hoopsier OK, WTF is a "Bellybutton commander?" That's one I've never heard and I'm no spring chicken - or a young minnow . . . I'm an old Squid.
Navel Commander... C'mon man, that wasn't a hard one..
Ah, so to get it - I had to assume you don't know how to spell Naval! LOL! Actually, I was a Navy Officer, Naval Officers and enlisted includes the Jarheads. 😉
Ummm .. hmmmm You and I have had a couple back and forths, me in jest while you exhibited the difficulty to fully assimilate into civilian life (and I totally understand that) about using Navel as a joke. It's not a huge mental leep, in a comedy way to jump (step) from Belly Button, to navel to Naval. BUT to do so, I suspect that one simply needs to relax a bit. Have some self deprecation and simply laugh.

Actually, the transition from military to civilian life was pretty easy for me. My leadership style, and humor is a big part of it, translated extremely well. I only had one job interview for a civilian sector job and I was hired. I've done a fair bit of teaching and speaking, and except when doing a briefing for the bigger brass, I started it off with humor. I've had people laughing until they cry. It's a gift. LOL!
Message boards are different. You can't see faces, you can't hear voice inflections, or any of the verbal and visual cues that help with humor, so it's easy for all of us to miss that posts were made to be a bit humorous or "in jest." Just picture me with a smile on my face and it'll help you out. 😉

You are killing me!! (This is a navel poke laughing joke).. He He He He.
@joe_hoopsier I'll be serious here. I spoke at one of our friend Bing's advancement ceremonies and Bing told me a month later over a couple of drinks at a Comedy Club with our wives that I should get up and do stand up on improv night. NOPE! Not ever going to do that. Coming up with a routine would take far too much work. 😉 Also, one of my Ohio golfing buddies did that one night and told me it was not a fun experience. That's even though he got some laughs. I enjoy speaking and teaching, and telling jokes, but it would be far different if the focus would be on entertaining and trying for laughs for even 20 minutes straight.

I totally agree with your thinking there. There are things, that we at this age can be good at, but GD that would require an extreme amount of work that we simply don't want to invest in anymore.
Hey, how about bring a few jokes here on occasion. Yes even Trump is acceptable, as long as they are funny. Bring us your gift!! Think Drybar type comedy. Bring it !!
OH, did any of your navel medals leave a scar or get infected?

how is Bing doing? Is he still around?
He's in command of a unit deployed to the Middle East. Can't say which country or which unit. I can say neither he nor anyone in his command have been wounded from any of Iran's missile attacks. His family is back in my old Ohio neighborhood. He never sold that house and he's planning another tour in Wright-Patterson after this one. It'll depend on whether he gets promoted to flag. He's an O6 now.

The fact that you have the temerity to question anyone else’s intellect is hilarious considering how many times you fail to exhibit any…
Question? I have no question about it. I know you're about as dumb as any poster this board has ever seen. I do wonder what a guy with such an obvious lack of intelligence does for a living. What do you do?
Also, you didn't go to IU. Why do you hang around here? It's definitely not to increase the average IQ of the WC. I bet you decrease the average IQ of every room you walk in to, including empty ones.

I definitely remember you claiming you supported the GBD in the old board. I also remember doing a keyword search on “Barrington” and your username and finding absolutely nothing to support that idea.

Wanna bet I didn’t go to IU? Back up your claim, let’s put a wager on it, put up or shut up…
