This case is getting a lot of press. Are opinions breaking along political lines?

(anyone know how to get try links that don’t say share.google?).

While watching the video, click on the Youtube logo to watch it on their site, and share that link instead, that's the only way I know.

Listening to stories on NPR about it this week, I would hope that it would not break along political lines, because it sounds too complex for that, but I'm not sure our electorate can handle complex right now, so I wouldn't be shocked if that's what happens.

@goat it might given that it’s ny and misandry runs rampant with the woke left ie ny

dont know facts so i should not judge but its a message board so who cares. One person everyone knows a chick with Monday morning regret and oh I was so wasted I didn’t want.  Mhmmmm. Sure. Maybe. But everyone is aware of that bs. If seven guys banged her thats a very different animal.  Seven dorks who thought this might be their only chance at getting pusssy anytime soon. Weaklings who are once creepy and susceptible to peer pressure. Again without facts a drunk crying I didn’t consent to one guy is a very different animal than a drunk consenting to a gang bang. I find it very hard to believe that she would ever have consented to that.

Here’s my psa to those of you with daughters.  They’re going to party. Don’t bother trying to stop them. Tell them two things 1). No drugs. No point to drugs. You can get fucked up without them so why risk it and 2) parties. BYOB. Whatever you’re drinking bring it yourself. And if you don’t. Only drink out of bottles you never set down.  No borgs or whatever.  NO RED CUPS!!!  Alcohol only you brought or a bottle.  🙌🙏🤝

I'm with you on all counts here. I do think those frat guys didn't help themselves by sending out messages inviting others to join in. And nothing would surprise me, but I also find it hard to believe she'd consent to that level of craziness as well.

I'm not overly worried about my son getting caught up in stuff like this, but I have talked with him about this general kind of thing. And I've definitely told my daughter to always be aware of her surroundings and always be super careful.

For what it's worth, this is the only place I've commented on this case. I don't really have a contrary opinion on it, but from everything I've seen on social media, a white straight guy saying anything about this isn't really wanted. That's fine by me. It's a horrible situation and nothing I say on it  probably wouldn't further any discussions anyway.

How common is it for a state AG with a clear political agenda to assume the role of lead special investigator after the DA determined there wasn't enough evidence to prosecute?

I don't know much about the specifics of the case, but the media sure seems quick to jump on this story, despite its earlier faults in doing so in other cases (see Duke Lax, UVA frat). I'm not suggesting that rape is falsely reported most of the time, but there have been many examples of such instances, particularly after time has passed, in recent years. Maybe I'm too cynical, but I'm just not ready to get all bent out of shape like NY libs.

God forbid you might be a voice of sanity and reason. The media chastised Duke LAX players and UVA frat bros and ruined lives. I'm not going to rush to the defense of the Cornell frat bros. defense here since these things def. happen, but god damn, we should at least learn our lesson and let the facts come out into a court that can render an opinion. But many have already decided.

The more important one is to stay with friends. See IUB's own terrifying unsolved disappearance.

People seem incapable of simultaneously understanding that the men are weirdo scum and there is no evidence that points to them doing anything illegal.

In fact, much to the contrary that this girl voluntarily participated in everything that happened that night and didn’t get upset until she was barred from the Fraternity house which she wished to return to.

She was barred?

Why do fraternities love gang bangs so much?  @zeke4ahs :  End Greek Life!!

She was supposed to return for a Halloween party until the Fraternity president intervened and said it was not a good idea for her to show up.

At which point she filed her initial complaint.

I agree with you, but I was more talking about getting sucked into whatever is happening on social media surrounding this. I saw one post that devolved into 'is there any woman who HASN'T experienced some level of sexual harassment?" As it turns out there were plenty of women who weighed in saying they hadn't experienced it, only to be met with a barrage of 'cat calls and comments on your clothes/looks count too!' And guys who might have intimated that not all men do this type of thing were essentially berated.

I'm not discounting anyone's feelings or comfort level in terms of what they have or haven't experienced, but I just didn't see what good could come from me weighing in on social media.

Maybe you guys are my safe space....
