To be a “real black guy” is one required to be uneducated, unable to hold a job, and a gang-banger?

@co-hoosier I joke with my buddy but not be a foreigner.  His upbringing is far different than that of a kid born and raised in north Stl city. It’s not the same

@ohio-guy armed robbery in my hood at 8pm last week.  you don't need to ask the demo of the "suspects"

I point all this out to say that inner city crime isn't a new occurrence and isn't something left-leaning politicians directly or indirectly cause.

You'd have to perform some real mental gymnastics to believe that. More police, more aggressive prosecution = less crime.

One party favors as much, the other does not.

I get that.  People are not the same. My take from your posts is that being a black guy means something more than skin color.  I’m trying to understand what that is.

Many years ago, Rerun (a very smart liberal former poster) took me down for arguing that “black culture” was a factor in various kinds of bad behavior.  He made a good argument.  I have since tried to only attribute bad behavior to social failures and not to being black.  Although I also understand that many social failures are concentrated in black communities.

Nice cherry picking. Did you not read my post? I'm guessing no.

I did. It has no factual basis. Black crime rates were lower pre-Great Society.

So lack of generational wealth, lack of opportunity and lack of government assistance are not contributory.

Any other guesses?

@co-hoosier those social failures shape and become the culture.  culture evolves and devolves. it's not static.  quote below from a guy re a carjacking shooting yesterday here.

First Alert 4 spoke with people in the area, including one man who has lived in Hyde Park for about 10 years.

“It makes me duller to the situation. It makes me real sad because for the youth to react the way they react nowadays, from back when I was coming up, it’s a shame,” said Dee Jefferson.

the black culture today is exceptionally violent, particularly amongst youth.  adn the dems only exacerbate same with george floyd blm and all the rest of the false narratives promoted that engender victimhood and division

progressives are the greatest threat we have to this country.  our culture.  our stability.  our economics.  as aoc is inching closer to a presidential run.  at this point i'm not sure i'd trust a moderate dem.  look what biden did.  i dont' think it's ever been as important to vote for a republican.  any republican, sadly

It’s the distinct lack of impulse control that scares me most.. I don’t know how much of that is genetic and how much is environmental.

I think you're painting with too broad a brush. I'd bet crime rates in the area of Cincinnati where this incident occurred had much higher rates of crime than today.

That said, the issue of inner city crime transcends political affiliations over the years.

And even if your assertion is true, correlation doesn't necessarily equal causation.

So you're saying black people have a 'distinct lack of impulse control.' Damn dude. And this thread was doing so well with not crossing into racist territory.

My assertion is true. Even in high crime red states the crime rate is propelled by blue cities. With blue city government.

@carramrod LOL - so the Heritage Foundation does a 'report' in response to another report about murder rates in red states. From the report you just posted:

The report was written in response to another report released in March titled “ The Red State Murder Problem” by Third Way, which is “a national think tank that champions modern center-left ideas,” according to its website.

I think a last minute edit on that report was the 'I'm rubber, you're glue' finish.

@ohio-guy do you have an answer to 27/30 highest crime cities being run by Democrats. An explanation?

14/30 DA’s being Soros funded?

Attack the source all you like, but you don’t have any sources more reputable.
