They sound like the kinda folks who were so upset with Lightfoot they voted for Johnson. I've seen this story before. Johnson's approvals have rebounded dramatically from 6% to now being in the mid 20's. Lightfoot was in the mid 20's heading into her re-election and we thought for sure that was an indicator that would precipitate a tact towards sanity.
But there is a majority of Chicagoans for whom people like Lightfoot or BJ are not progressive enough.

No, they were open about voting for Paul (who knows who they actually voted for under the curtain), but they knew he was going to likely get beat because of the CTU. The teen takeovers and madness that continue in nicer parts of the city are solidifying their stance to vote for basically any alternative, sans a Chicago version of Mamdani. That being said, they are few and far between compared to the liberal and degenerate populations that make up a much larger sum of people across the city.
