Why don’t commercial flights go over Antarctica? They are hiding something.
Or, perhaps it has to do with the fact that only 5% of the world population lives south of the 30 degree south latitude. By comparison, 80% of the world population lives north of the equator.
There's just not that many people who want to travel from the southern tip of Africa to the southern tip of South America.

It would be interesting to know how much, if any, of an impact COVID had. No way anyone can accurately quantify such a thing.

All things being equal, it's reasonable to think a stable climate and sea level is desirable given the amount of human capital invested in ocean adjacent cities and infrastructure.
What's the counter argument?
