I had no idea he even knew who Charlie Kirk was.

Heck, I barely know who he was. If it wasn't for this place, I wouldn't have known. I just don't follow any of these influencers, right or left.

I knew who he was and what he did only because I have a conservative kid currently in college.

Sad day. The man hurt no one

@bradstevens I'm actually angry. This isn't America.

AGAIN - I'll await the motive but unless this dude was an unmitigated/unmedicated whackjob like Hinkley......this is really really awful and says way too much about who we've become.

Slightly different but mostly the same (b/c they weren't literally expressing their opinion when shot) are the two Dems shot in MN. We're headed for a WILD ride.

They still haven't got the bastard.  Who knows what the truth is but sure looks like a professional hit.  A random wack job likely wouldn't still be at large.

Probably a nut here but...

Professional hit? There's some totally baseless speculation - and so it begins.

We won't know who he was or have any idea about motive for a few days.

And when the issue is trying to close the gap that leads to political violence,

I don’t believe that  strong differences of opinions necessarily leads to political violence.  The problem is that  people don’t know how to disagree. Nor can they cope with disagreement.  And yeah, I will say this is a left problem. The data show that those on the left are more willing to break up families, end friendships, terminate relationships, and react with uncontrolled emotions than those on the right because of political disagreements.

We can do better.  This is one reason why I enthusiastically support the ethics bowl @bradstevens posted about.

Why did you cherry pick this part of my post to respond to? You completely ignored the substance of my point.

We may never know his/her motive. When it's all said and done, there is no guarantee that the shooter is taken alive.

I do hope they catch the shooter and determine motive. Not knowing will just lead to deeper speculation and divisiveness.

@co-hoosier Conveniently forget the Democrats, right? In fact the most recent murders were Dems. The kidnapping plot of Gretchen Whitner? Nancy Pelosi’s husbands violent attack, which was greeted by hilarity by many on the right wing, including Jr. , Gabby Giffords, the list of Dems that received the white powdery substance in the mail, d pipe bombs left at the DNC, Oops January 6. Yes, definitely just a Dem problem.

Do you have the guts to list the Dem related events now since you’re interested in both sides of these events?  Go ahead, list as many (6) as you did for Pubs.  Bet you won’t.

@mcm666 Kirk was actually a good egg and spent his days pushing discourse with people he disagreed with.

That's because you're too busy following Bitcoin influencers.

I found out about this via text from my son in school.  I had no idea he even knew who Charlie Kirk was.

He said he heard a lot of kids happy about it, cheering the killing.  I told him that they are young and stupid and don’t understand the world, but if I ever heard he did that about someone, I’d tan his hide.

His response? What’s tan his hide mean?

Apparently, Kirk’s wife and kids were on the campus at the time.  Not sure if they were at the event.

Watch his clips, and get back to us.

Sincere, empathetic, honest, scientific, documented...

Allowed shitlibs to simply dig their own holes of stupidity.  Then politely corrected/dismissed them.

A model of how to do it.

@arthur-dent Kirk isn’t Reagan. This imho is very very likely politically and personally motivated.

Conspiracy Theory is one of my favorite Mel Gibson films.

I feel like I've seen that, but don't recall much of anything about it. Was this a part of of the plot?

Only thing I remember is a fascination with tapioca pudding and The Catcher in the Rye
