Students in both end zones, one corner of the main, all of the way up to the top and the balcony. There are plenty of other great seats for the alumni, its not like really any of them are going to get pushed up to the balcony.

What I remember is we had half lower and half balcony. The section across from the bench, one of the end zones, half the other. Hopefully, they prove me wrong and they consistently show up. The way it was obviously wasn’t working

These seats will likely always be full now and actually have some energy in them instead of half full of ppl taking a nap.

My freshman and sophomore seats in 1982 and 1983 were way up high. And I remember an annoying post. My mind isn't too good on that though.
Didn't miss more than a game or two and sure I easily found takers for the tix. We weren't one of the great teams but were a good team. Good shooters for sure.

Scattering was a piss poor term that I used. What they are doing is probably an improvement if they show up.
Start winning….they will show….just like football….amazing what winning will do!
I dont mind the move. However, in defense of those of us who have watched IU for decades, I will say that it isn't a question of winning to get students in the stands, its a question of whether someone else would take the seat, and up til now the answer has generally been "yes".
But now, we have e an entire generation of "fans" without expectations and who are not addicted to IU basketball. So they are willing to sit at home and wait for them to get better instead of going to the games, so a change is necessary, and that is fine with me.
However, if they have the student section down low and the students dont show, sell the tix to alumni. I have no problem with that either.
@tr32 I agree with that too. If a student shows up to below a number of games, they lose the right to buy seats. can either shrink the section and sell to alumni or open it to another student.

When the basketball is good, that place is loud as hell. It doesn't matter where the students are sitting. At the risk of sounding like the old man I'm steadily becoming, basketball tickets (football too) shouldn't be a check box on a form from the Registrar. Go wait in line for them like students had to before. At least some skin in the game is needed.

Elbows, jersey and shorts grabs, FU's all night. Kidney punches and gut shots. It was war and I had a front row seat. My fav seat at an IU game as a student. Good win too.

I had those seats for purdoo in '88. They were ranked #2 IIRC. IU by 3 and it was a war under the basket. Todd Mitchell was the biggest punk.

It's been a check box since I Was a freshmen in '91. You had to wait in line to actually fulfill, but to order was a check box. And now, they have to stand in line to actually get into the game, unless they're behind the basket(s), I believe. Maybe that's part of the problem (biggest problem being not winning)? Was very close in the stands behind Lewis and yelling at him to do a handful of times before this play occured. Will let you connect the dots.
