Was wondering if there was much recruiting being done where Moms and Dads get paid in addition to their son (or daughter) by the NIL collectives?
I know it's not pay to play, *cough* and the money is from the same pool so doesn't add extra money, if you have $X earmarked then paying some to Mom and Dad seems like it reduces what the kid gets by that much.
But since it's wide open and you hear of some pain the rear parents of some of these recruits. Just wondering how often they collect directly. In the old days sometimes you'd hear about better jobs, cars, even houses.

1. It 100% is pay for play, even though that is not what NIL was supposed to be, but nobody put guardrails up because they were in denial of it ever happening.
2. Since these contracts are not made public, I have no idea who gets paid. I would assume that if a recruit is under 18, the money would go into an account under their parent's, guardians', or even an agent's name. However, I don't think schools or collectives are cutting checks directly to the parents.
Yeah, but I always still put that caveat in because otherwise there's still the (now more rare) replies that say 'it's not pay for play' . When it always was.
