@ge-off To be fair... there are still a lot of NBA level guys that haven't committed to their new schools yet. IU's portal haul is impressive, and it'll be near the top when it all shakes out. But I'll be surprised if it stays number 1.
i don't think iu finishes first either but 35 of the top 50 transfers (by 247) have already committed.
it seems like iu is going to wait and see on another big and another wing but aren't going to drop more bags until prices come down a bit.
edit: i also want to see how they fill out the rest of the roster before giving a grade. i think they can squeak by without a true back up pg, but at least another big and some shooting with length would be ideal for me.
threw this together quickly just to gauge where people think minutes distribution would be if the roster was done now (it's not, and i'll adjust for other players added).
i think sisley probably gets more minutes but, again, hard to say because i think they add another couple guys.
let me know your thoughts:
Sisley needs major improvement, but he should be still very useful out there. Can do a little bit of everything as a big small forward. Grab a few boards, score a little, somebody who can help move the ball around. Doesn't really do much high level yet though. If his shot develops that may be his best attribute since he isn't very explosive athletically. Hope he makes a jump this year.
@hoosiers94 A lot of the top "NBA studs" probably want a winning coach/program and top dollars. IU can only offer dollars for now.
I'm not as negative on CDD as some but it cannot be denied that his first season at IU didn't earn him any benefit of the doubt. Portal haul looks good but we still need to see that translate to better success on the floor.
@middawg We cover football in the summer. Unless there are exhibition basketball games or something, it's mainly IUFB. So ETA is when we can see practice with our own eyes.
@tjinman1987 Nothing personal (of course), but I hope you are wrong on this. I'd love to see one more top-rated portal dude land in Bloomington.
Appreciate the inside info. One of the reasons I come here. No bubble burst or big expectations for a big fish at this point because I get the situation and what may or may not be realistic. Things do change and they should not be satisfied especially if they want to get back to being among the elite.

Yeah, that comment was mostly in jest and projecting what I think could percolate within the fan base.
Thought I saw the NCAA approved annual Eurotrips so maybe we get some Summer ball against real teams.

@middawg I believe they did. We will see. Hopefully they would be streamed
@iureactionary As you say, this could be moot if they land a competent 4/5 option. For now, here's what I have:
5 - Yigitoglu (28) and Sherrell (12)
4 - Sherrell (18), Sisley (14), Mustaf (8)
3 - Mustaf (18), Harris (16), Karvala (6)
2 - Lindsay (26), Harris (10), PAM (4)
1 - Burton (32), Lindsay (4), PAM (4)
I would not be at all surprised to see Prince Alexander-Moody end up with more than eight minutes per game. If they are able to land a big guy that can give them 10 competent minutes, mostly at the 5 (meaning Sherrell plays more at the 4 and Mustaf plays less at the 4)...I'd feel a bit better about things in the frontcourt rotation. On the whole though, it's an exciting roster. Not elite and they won't contend for the Big Ten title but exciting nonetheless.
I think IU waits until late next week to complete the roster- would look at only carrying 12.
portal closes next Tuesday- no more entries- see who is out there as late additions happen daily

you may be right. I was hoping that perhaps Carr might bring some "NBA" street cred our way and convince some of them to cknsider
