One additional note on Opurum...he has a reported wingspan of 7'9" and he would have, three and possibly four years of eligibility remaining (1 JUCO season, one medical redshirt).

@tjinman1987 I would hope his health/recovery is very carefully evaluated, we don't need a player who will be on the injured list every game, or god forbid something worse happening during a game.
@openwheel He had heart surgery...hardly comparable to Jason Drake and Josh Harris not being available. I don't know if IU will get Opurum but they could do far worse for frontcourt depth.

Next unrealistic target on my list is Christian Anderson. Apparently already seems Duke or Florida are in his cards. Some players seem worthy of opening the pocketbook to raise the team up another level. He is certainly one of those players.
@arioznahoosier4554 Just curious, so you don't cheer for the football team? Personally, I think NIL is IU's best chance to regain relevance in bball. The "old way" hasn't been working for over 20 years for us. We basically just lost an entire roster, and have signed what looks to me like a hihgly competitive roster in a week thanks to NIL. Plus, at the end of the day, I'm glad these kids are finally able to make some coin off the dollars they've been producing for the schools. I think it could use guard rails, but selfishly, I think it's helping our school way more than most.
Sure and it helped football but I still do not like it. I think it has simply turned them into professionals. I was never for them not making coin but when they are making as much as NBA players to me they simply are now NBA and NFL players there really is no difference. They just need to call it what it is basically just another pro league.

If online reports are accurate we have already spent close to 20 million dollars on this roster so my guess is the remaining guys will be low dollar guys.

He's going for the Animal House Bluto 7 years of college down the drain route.
@sig Obviously would love to get in on Anderson. But he's too much money, I suspect, to add to what we've already committed to. And I would think signing him would cause a couple of the current guard signees to change their minds. NET, I'd prefer the likely much less expensive, and much more likely multi year guys we already got. But he is potentially the best overall player in the portal. Just like Blackwell, he'll improve whatever team he plays for next year immensely, and is worth being up there as the highest paid college bball player.
