Archie part 2. Please just fire him tomorrow. I'm sure he is a nice guy, so it's better for all parties to just get it done and move on now. They way this team just rolled over this season is not good. It's not a good sign for a coach.
I got $50, give me the addy.
He does come across as a nice guy but obviously is not getting the job done. He can't get an experienced group of seniors to play as a team. IU owes him millions so he'll be back. Only way fans can show displeasure is by not going to the games. That will catch the attention of the AD.Archie part 2. Please just fire him tomorrow. For the $27 million+ contract he's getting, the DeVries hiring should give Dolson some buyer's remorse. That kind of money should buy an elite basketball mind. On the job training should not be part of the deal. He committed a cardinal sin of coaching by losing his team. The kids are poorly coached and appear to play with little purpose or desire.
When rumors of Cig flew, 8 out of 10 on the boards, were - Hmmm... He looks pretty good! with the 2 negatives just saying, Its Indiana...
When rumors of DeVries gained traction 8 out of 10 were, Hmmmm... ok, maybe... with the 2 saying ITS INDIANA!

But honestly, I liked a lot of our play this year. But very scary we went in the tank, looked worse at the end.
I hope we get almost all new guys. Hate to feel that. I like several returnees.

Huge red flag. This staff is in over its head.

Yeah, Im sure ####### tired of the season too.

We’re gonna need a bigger check…
I look at the roster construction issues way differently.
imho, DD built the roster he wanted out of arrogance. Like many, he looked at the B10 as being archaic. A league of dinosaurs. So, he thought he would just assemble a roster of all shooters and get away with having the post be a weakness. He thought he was smarter. There’s one problem with this thinking: you still have to play conference games. Your eventual NCAA seeding (note-assuming you aren’t a garbage program that rarely makes the tourney) will be mostly a factor of conference play.
I wonder what his record would be if he had this same roster with Drake's schedule? Could he get to the same 6-7 loss levels that dazzled Scott Dolson? (Won-loss records improved upon in year one at Drake by Ben McCollum.)
Don't embarrass us coach:
Indiana Coach makes case for NCAA
“I certainly think there's a case there. Whether it ends up being enough, we'll see. That's something that I think this team, they've gone through it this year. They've continued to fight and battle and came away with some good wins along the way to back that up.”

Iu has had 10 single digit loss seasons since RMK was fired - 10!Anybody with sense knew it was possible. I called 10-10, and unfortunately was wrong.'24-'25: 19-13, 10-10
'25-'26: 18-13, 9-11 (so far)
I know, Woody had more money to play around with, blah blah blah. But DeVries still had good bank (2nd-highest in the B1G, it seems).
For anyone and everyone: Before you knew the coach or roster, would you have considered a worse record than last season to be acceptable? If so, you are the truest of true fans.
Our 'program' is and was in the dumpster.
I even think for next year, the post saying 'single digit losses' or else the year is a failure, is also off base. Single-digit losses regularly, nearly every year, is the goal and very possible, once or if, DeVries and Dolson can get this train back on the rails.
Next year? Maybe, but single digit losses is a sort of stupid bar for a program that has not done that for ELEVEN YEARS.
,
this response is the problem with IU basketball. Give em one more year he'll figure it out. Unreasonable to expect that ... nonsense. Single digit losses is not something that is unreasonable in any year. That's 5 more wins... a better coach , who can assemble a better roster and we are there.
