Pierre Pierce would like a word.

That didn't help, but I don't think it was a deal breaker.

Probably not. Look at Izzo for example. The lack of awareness on Alford's part was glaring. Trying to talk the sexual assault victim with 6 to 9 stitches in her anus into visiting with a religious group and talking about forgiveness? WTF was he thinking besides I can't bench my best player even if he is a rapist? Not a good look.

Then for him to continue playing PP until he did it a second time made Alford seem to be a very poor judge of character and/or a win at all costs coach. He made some really bad choices with that issue. Just dumb ..

The incident in China was another example where people pointed to poor judgment regarding players. At least he handled the aftermath a little better.

Was about to post this. He did a great job at UNM and Nevada. Happy retirement, well earned

I wonder if he'll end up to color commentary on TV broadcasts. I could see him being good at that. On the other hand, He strikes me as a guy who would want to hang it up to legitimately spend more time with family.

I was kind of surprised to see he's only 61. I hope he enjoys whatever he ends up doing in retirement.

Thankfully, we won't have to hear his name brought up during coaching searches any longer.

Are you kidding? You don't know our fanbase very well! If we have a job opening in the next 5 years, he'll be mentioned right away because he doesn't have a job holding him back! His, and the other guy, will be among the first 2 names that come out!

Kory is at Oral Roberts, so I'm sure he'll be taking in those games.  Who knows, maybe he get's hired by Kory at some point down the road ala Sam Alford.
