😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

and to no ones surprise ND is still ranked.  ND could come out and tell us they are no longer playing football and the national media would still have them ranked in the poles for 4 more weeks.

Miami and A&M are really, really good losses. The average fan just doesn't understand how strong those losses proved the Irish are.

Of course we played Kennesaw State and Indiana State. And have to go by Old Dominion beating mighty Virginia Tech to show just how great our wins are. So far. And the Irish beat us somewhat recently. With home field advantage though.

But by the end of the year, even after the B1g Ten gauntlet, our losses if any will be bad losses, our good wins will mean the other team is overrated.

Now, Tennessee at home just had a really good loss. They're in!

I disagree. Miami got elevated by beating what will now be an unranked ND team. Because ND loses, doesn't mean their opponents are good. ND just doesn't look the same this year. I see them losing more, for sure.

The first paragraph calling Miami and A&M really really good losses is not MY narrative. It was my sarcasm of what networks and Notre Dame and their shills are going to try to spoon feed us the rest of the season

@yothn Its not only the lack of ranked teams, its that they play the worst teams in the country.

Purdue, Syracuse, Stanford, Boston College are probably 4 of the bottom 6 P4 teams. Pitt just lost to an awful WVU squad. Navy and Boise are no good. NC State might be 3-0, but they are atrocious if you watched the games.

Arkansas' offense might give ND some trouble, but the only team with a real pulse left for them is USC. I hope the reversible jacket fans enjoy their season

It’s not a popular view, but ND being ranked just inside the top 25 is not entirely unreasonable.

They lost by three on the road to a top-5 team and by one at home to a pretty good team.

But, if someone argues an 0-2 team has to win a game or two to be top-25 I get that too.

I think we may share a brain.

I think the question is, how good were their opponents? We still don't know. A&M is in the SEC so they're crowned as off-season champs before the season starts but they could end up being bottom half of the SEC. Miami may be good but even then, aside from ND, they've only beat USF.  If ND isn't good and USF is no longer ranked after losing.....time will certainly tell us.

I’m no Miami fan, but they look to be very very good. Both sides of the line of scrimmage are very strong for them.

We will certainly find out when they play Florida and Florida State coming up. I’m happy to see Florida in turmoil again, but turning the ball over five times and still only losing by 10 points tells me they have a lot of talent even if they’re not a very good team

well, I’m no Notre Dame fan. Far from, to call Syracuse one of the worst teams in the power four is a pretty big stretch in my opinion. Now, I’m not gonna lie and tell you that I’ve seen them play this year but last year they won nine or 10 games so I doubt they’ve fallen so far is to be one of the worst in the country.

one of the worst in the country.

But that’s probably the second or third most difficult game left on their schedule and that’s not very challenging

Bad thing is that the USC game is at ND

Watch it there with that comment about the reversible jacket fans. Someone from the basketball board might come over here and give you the business.  They are here and make their appearance on occasion.

@gros-louis Syracuse was a good team last year, this year they are horrible, too many graduated and their transfer QB (ironically, from Notre Dame) is a bust.

UConn, who just lost to a FCS school, should have beat them the other week (they peed themselves in final minutes, went to OT)

@tammany Comparative reasoning, taking data from the game at Miami especially, should have Notre Dame still firmly top 15.  I would honestly have them right around 15, with Miami top 5, and A&M 12 or 13.  If I'm a Notre Dame fan, the A&M game is a crushing loss...but the very bright silver lining is they have a budding "franchise" quarterback in CJ Carr.  They will finish 10-2, I'm sure.  And I suspect that will end up getting them in the CFP, somehow.  B10 and SEC will beat up on each other enough to have plenty of 2 loss teams being considered for multiple spots.  They'll get one...

Their QB ‘bust’ who leads the country in passing yardage and is the third highest rated quarterback so far.

@gros-louis Stats dont tell the whole story. Ive watched every Syracuse game, they are terrible. He has thrown the ball 125x already this season which is ridiculous. Much of that in garbage time or in 2 minute drill where you have to go vertical.

His windup is ridiculous slow. Watch his throws against UConn, first 50 minutes of game clock is... wow.

From what I’ve seen of ND, their defense has taken a big step back with many of the same players.  Now, many will point to Chris Ash, who last I tecall was roaming the sidelines at Rutgers as possibly their worst coach in 30 years.  He had 8 wins in 3 seasons there and was fired after 4 games in 2021.  Most ND fans are directing their ire at Ash.
it certainly doesn’t appear to be anywhere close to the level of defense they had under Golden.
Now, that said, I have some big concerns with our own defense.  We lost 5 out of 12 guys from that unit that were instrumental in our lock-down defense most of the year.  west, Carpenter, Jaylin Walker. Asbury II and Terry Jones Jr..   I don’t know if fans fully realize that near 50% of what made that defense special is gone and we didn’t get the guys in the portal to replace them.  I guess I’ve seen more activity out of Wyatt than any of them.  The other guys up front, I’ve seen a big drop off.  Louis Moore has been probably our most consistent DB so far.
