I hate that fan base, especially the reversible jackets.

Miami on the road was a fair loss, Miami look very good.  A&M at home not a good one though.  The rest of their schedule is pretty easy and there aren’t many impressive possible wins left (maybe USC).

I hope this knocks them out of the playoff, but if they run the table and time passes they’ll probably somehow be in the mix.

We’ll see.  I definitely don’t like them.

They play one maybe two non-cupcakes the rest of the way.

Only slightly tongue in cheek by calling many of them cupcakes.

To put it better, they dont play anyone else thats currently ranked. Therefore they could have no ranked wins, will that matter to Kirk Herbstreit or is that suddenly not a problem?

Miami and A&M are really, really good losses. The average fan just doesn't understand how strong those losses proved the Irish are.

Of course we played Kennesaw State and Indiana State. And have to go by Old Dominion beating mighty Virginia Tech to show just how great our wins are. So far. And the Irish beat us somewhat recently. With home field advantage though.

But by the end of the year, even after the B1g Ten gauntlet, our losses if any will be bad losses, our good wins will mean the other team is overrated.

Now, Tennessee at home just had a really good loss. They're in!

I disagree. Miami got elevated by beating what will now be an unranked ND team. Because ND loses, doesn't mean their opponents are good. ND just doesn't look the same this year. I see them losing more, for sure.

Somehow, the Irish might still be ranked this week.  Even at 0-2

It’s not a popular view, but ND being ranked just inside the top 25 is not entirely unreasonable.

They lost by three on the road to a top-5 team and by one at home to a pretty good team.

But, if someone argues an 0-2 team has to win a game or two to be top-25 I get that too.

I think the question is, how good were their opponents? We still don't know. A&M is in the SEC so they're crowned as off-season champs before the season starts but they could end up being bottom half of the SEC. Miami may be good but even then, aside from ND, they've only beat USF.  If ND isn't good and USF is no longer ranked after losing.....time will certainly tell us.
