I wouldn't mind seeing Daley and Wyatt turn this dude into a mincemeat sandwich early in the first quarter. No injuries, just let him know very early he's not playing a MAC school or whoever else he's beaten.
How does he compare to Chiles? We let him out of the pocket and it hurt us.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

20 to 30% chance he finishes this game on the sideline.
Our Hoosiers will be hitting hard and are due for a game knockout.
Hoping DN is a go.

I'd heard of Chiles.....good player, never heard of Colandrea until today
I guess we'll find out
@drjb He was the Mountain West Player of the Year last year at UNLV
Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
Yeah, he is not Swiss cheese. But he has not seen anything like the defense he will see Saturday. It will be a good matchup.
He is not quite Chiles on athletic talent either running or arm strength, IMO, but seems to be clicking on running their offense, and he's athletic enough, throws go to the right spots, runs smart and runs pretty well.
I think from the start of the game he will give us more trouble. We won't get a half thrown away like Northwestern and Chiles before Northwestern figured it out and tore us up a bit in the second half.
Offense is going to need to be sharp too. More likely this team puts up some points than ones we've played. And Nebraska defense looks decent by numbers.
Pretty cool matchup. Should be fun.
@openwheel Indiana is better than Nebraska, in all phases of the game. But that difference isn't enough, in any of them, that Nebraska, with their home crowd, with their talent level, couldn't beat Indiana. Rhule is also a pretty darn good coach, overall.
Vegas has settled in at 7.5... ESPN Analytics have IU winning at nearly 70% probability. It would be an upset on Saturday if IU loses. But not a shocking, monumental upset. Their QB is very good. If IU can keep him in the pocket, I don't think he ends up being the type to beat us with his arm. But if he's allowed out of the pocket all game, they'll get a lot of first downs, and the game will be close as a result. And then anything can happen to turn the game one way or another.
@iunorth Feel like it all comes down to the beginning of the game. If they force a turnover or get an early TD, and that crowd gets going, could spell trouble. If we come out and force a punt and methodically march it down with success running the ball, I think the environment will get much more manageable. They've gotten down early to Ohio and Maryland; hoping that trend continues. Sort of half expecting to see Hoover's first turnover. We know it's going to happen at some point, so that will be interesting to. If it happens, needs to keep it to 1. Did I hear right that they had 16 penalties in that MD game? That trend continuing wouldn't hurt us either!
The more I learn about this Nebby QB, the more I smirk thinking how he is a Cornhusking, Overall Wearing, Farmer Brown sort of Pavia.
College Football With Sam, just watched his 5 reasons Nebraska will win. (He has a 10 reasons Indiana will win version, too)
Sam says Nebraska frosh RB Jamal Rule is the best running back on the field... I have seen highlights. He's good. I don't see Turbo playing second fiddle though.
Looks very similar to me with Rule maybe better cuts, but Turbo with more speed. But Rule is a good runner for sure.

Agreed, I don't see that either. Turbo was another terrific find. such good vision, balance, speed and toughness. I keep hoping we'll give him 3-4 chances with passes each game. I think he'll break one for a long run/TD every few touches if we can get him isolated out on LBs and DBs. I'd be all for splitting up Nowakowskis receptions from last year among our backfield this year.
@kkott Turnovers, or lack thereof, will be a huge factor, for sure. This IU team, so far, has been great taking care of the ball. But they're also not nearly as good at taking it away, as they were last year. I don't think Nebraska is a good enough football team to fully capitalize on early IU turnovers... like OSU was a couple years ago. But obviously, that's one path for them to pull off the upset.
I think if "things" mostly end up being par... IU will pull away and win comfortably. Hoover is due for a pick. Part of me actually thinks he needs one. As long as he follows it up with good play afterwards. That was one of Mendoza's number 1 traits last year. Pick 6 in the 2nd half at Oregon... don't care... bounce back and lead the team to 10 unanswered points. Blah, lackluster play throughout the entire PSU and Iowa games... don't care... start throwing darts and orchestrate game winning drives. If Hoover can start taking the top off the defense more effectively, like he did at TCU, it'll add a new dimension this team currently doesn't have as much of. I'd rather Hoover finishes the year with 40 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Than 30 TD's and zero or 1 interception. Because I feel pretty confident that will open up the running game even more, and against teams like OSU, and then CFP teams, having that true deep threat will be essential in keeping those elite front 7's honest.
@iunorth I just think an early turnover/score will serve to fire up the crowd even more, and it's going to be a big, heated one. Makes the likelihood for another turnover or momentum tide much more likely; like happened at PSU last year. If we come out and methodically move the ball and score, a 2nd half TO with say, a 21-7 lead will feel far different.
Some pretty amazing stats I've heard this week for NB: Matt Rhule 2-22 vs top 25. NB 0-31 vs top 25. NB is like 0-9 on Big Noon Kickoff. Last week: IU 0 penalties, NB 16 vs MD. All those stats are playing in the backs of every NB fans head. If we can just come out and control the game, I think it will dampen the energy in the stadium greatly and diminish their momentum and strengthen ours.
