Another point I’m just noticing. With being RPO heavy the O-line blocks like it’s a run on most snaps. It wears down the defense because they fight harder. The fits are damn near perfect. That’s one reason IU runs the ball so well in the later periods. It’s genius if that’s intentional.

“I think that’s our number one job is to protect the quarterback,” Brunner said. “And Josh is a phenomenal player, and I know any anyone any five of us will lay our life on the line for that guy”.

That above is pretty damn cool to hear from Brunner!

And I thought Ajani is looking OK. I don't see the issues I hear about on this board often. Very good for him to have a veteran like Brunner right next to him. Gotta be talented to have played so much as a frosh.

It does seem like they are giving Ajani some help with HBs and TEs chipping his guy on the outside at times.

Yeah, I know. I remember a presser where it was mentioned. I didn't notice that at Rutgers though. And they should help on that side, they have Carter Smith on the other side.

Sure Ajani gets beat at times. But overall has improved since the start of the season. To me it seems like a lot. And that's with losing early practice time while Indiana experimented with Brunner out there. I did think Brunner would stay there. He seems mobile and smart. But he didn't, or for other reasons they prefer him at guard over Ajani.

Agree. I also thought Brunner would stay at tackle and was surprised when they came out the other way in the first game. Ajani has improved and I hope he keeps going with it. Brunner is a beast in there at guard.
