@albino No, you're not. But there are things that enhance or detract from people's experience that go beyond winning and losing. I don't think anyone goes solely for a 2:15 clip of music, but atmosphere is a huge part of college football and what make it special. As great as IU was the last two years, getting yelled at by the on-field MC and the atrocious sound system may have made me think twice about watching on TV.

As one of the.....checks notes......probably 24 people that sat through every down of the 4-OT Friday night game vs Akron in 2023, I can confidently say I'm here for the game.

Seriously though, gameday atmosphere is a big part of the production of creating fans. Music is a part of that, so are the on-field promotions, video packages, etc. And I think it's important because you want a place loud & rockin. Beaver Stadium shakes when that place gets going. The Shoe is the loudest open air stadium I've been in. And I've still not recovered all of my hearing from the Peach Bowl. I can't imagine Oregon (or us for that matter) was able to have a productive conversation on the field for a significant portion of time. Getting the fans up & loud is an advantage.

Brilliant! If we can arrange for our corner to get a pick 6 to start every game, I think we'll have all energy and enthusiasm levels solved! I took my son who grew up in NC to that game and he became an IU fan in one day! I'm content if I go to my grave with that being the most magical sports moment I ever see in person!
when OSU comes in. we should rickroll them simply for their annoying OHIO chant.
Of course, OSU fans may find it harder to get a big crowd into the stadium given IU fans will be more likely to fill the stadium this time.

I understand why they want a hype person, it's a thing more for younger fans than me. I just didn't like it all that much. A change sounds good.

Nobody loves to debate all the bullshit bells and whistles more than this fanbase. You haven’t learned this by now?
It's not really our fanbase, but the nature of an IUFB message board. People here want to walk the nitty gritty of IUFB. That's going to include stadium stuff.
