@tammany Good info! I wouldn't think the spreads would be influenced by rankings bias. So in some ways, I stand corrected! But I still think it'd play out to be pretty even. Texas is not 7 points better than UCLA, in my opinion, as an example, even with UCLA's QB being out. They play similarly to Oklahoma, but have a better defense and run game... and Oklahoma beat Texas up. I think it likely UCLA would do the same. And I don't think LSU would beat NW by double digits either... probably another physical, low scoring type game. But, Vegas is Vegas. So I'll concede that the SEC is a little better/deeper, right now.
@iunorth Those are estimated lines looking at various data sources. Pretty good estimates but not actually sports books.

I would note I don’t think the gap is huge. And I haven’t looked hard at the CFP rankings but those seem too skewed towards the SEC even though I think the SEC is a little better.
I may be in the minority here, but Coach Cignetti calling out the national media for their talking points is not a great thing. Indiana at 4 gives IU control of their own destiny. Just win out and IU is in. Who cares what Heather Dinich, Brandon Walker and all these other people say. I get it’s entertaining, but just put your nose to the grindstone and keep winning. IU is hard to kill, but if IU doesn’t win there will be plenty of people dancing on their grave because of Cignetti’s comments about ESPN’s marching orders.
