IU Needs to Let Talking Heads Flap their Gums and Just Win

I may be in the minority here, but Coach Cignetti calling out the national media for their talking points is not a great thing. Indiana at 4 gives IU control of their own destiny. Just win out and IU is in. Who cares what Heather Dinich, Brandon Walker and all these other people say. I get it’s entertaining, but just put your nose to the grindstone and keep winning. IU is hard to kill, but if IU doesn’t win there will be plenty of people dancing on their grave because of Cignetti’s comments about ESPN’s marching orders.

Yea, I think “cut out the noise and the clutter” and “control the controllables” is the easier approach.

Just my $0.02.  This staff has always read the press clippings more than I thought they would, maybe it’s motivation idk.

@tammany I agree. I don’t know about easier, but I think it’s better. He also dropped a “true fan” comment, which kind of makes my skin crawl.

@thehoosierhuddle disagree. Its about time the conference starts addressing the absurd SEC bias. Every SEC team with a winning record is in the playoff rankings. Its ridiculous.  We've had 3 straight years of the SEC getting the benefit of the doubt on a past history (pre-nil) that has no merits based on today's reality and 3 straight years of the B1G owning them in bowls and the playoffs. Yet, here we are again. The B1G gets no respect at all and the entire playoff rankings are littered with mediocre multi-loss SEC teams.

@surjay There is SEC bias for sure but the reality is that this is a down year for the Big Ten though.  It looks silly for people to deny that…

LOL  Yeah. But I forgave it immediately, because he's Cig. (And because booing is stupid.)

But was a bit soft.

Maybe the many tens of millions of dollars going to the football program need to all be inspected and make sure to discard all the ones from the non true fans.

Maybe Cig was in a great mood and feeling fiesty because after 100s of  hours of tape, he has tentatively through the agent lined up the Hoosiers '27 QB?

I feel better picking 3 blowout wins for Indiana to close the season with Cig talking some spicey big game.

Yet, the SEC never has a "down" year. Their middling teams are always ranked and then get worked in the postseason.

B1G is only down at the very top due to injuries. SEC is overrated like always. B1G will be lucky to get 2 teams into the playoffs this year due to bias despite being heads and shoulders the best conference 3 years running. Its funny that never carries over the next year like it always does for the SEC (who's riding on ancient history at this point).
