IUFB is here to stay
the talking heads would do well to just get used to it
That guy’s column should be sponsored by Kleenex
Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
Haha. Reads like a fansite message board post.
Pretty sure he is a Florida grad and has written countless articles like this the past two years. It is so comical living here in the south how much vitriol Indiana receives from these fanbases and media. They are beyond delusional.
I remember talking to an Oklahoma fan two years ago at this time and he was telling me they were going to hire Cignetti...as their OC lol They did not, and still don't understand the monster that Cignetti has created at Indiana. Not just on the field, but from a brand perspective. These articles will continue as writers realize the clicks and responses they generate.
Last year it was awesome seeing the media picks for the Indiana - Alabama, Rose Bowl. How'd that work out for ya?
"Alabama belongs! Alabama absolutely belongs! Alabama played a tough SEC schedule unlike Indiana! Alabama will show Indiana what a real SEC team is about"
*Alabama gets smashed*
"Alabama wasn't very good this year. This was a weak Alabama team. DeBoer isn't a good coach."
,
I think the reason they want Indiana ranked lower is because secretly they know they need us on the road to have much of a shot.

Having watched us over the past month, I'm not sure they need to get us on the road. We gotta make some serious strides on offense and special teams.Last year it was awesome seeing the media picks for the Indiana - Alabama, Rose Bowl. How'd that work out for ya?

IU is the defending National Champion. And they strolled in to many of these traditional, southern based media and fans' living rooms and sat in their favorite recliners to do it. They're gonna garner more attention than other programs. Wouldn't have mattered if they were ranked 4th, 7th, 10th... "They haven't beaten anyone..." "They have looked awful in B10 play..." "Their OOC schedule is terrible..." The facts are... their schedule is fine. They're 8-1 against it, with a close loss to a fully healthy OSU team (for most of the game). They have more wins against plus .500 FBS teams than anyone else in the country. They're just as deserving of that ranking as anyone else, outside Miami right now.
But... they haven't been dominant, they haven't looked good, against decent B10 opponents. So criticism is fair game. Its just dumb, obviously, to not also criticize Georgia for losing at home to a mediocre Auburn team... Bama, Texas, etc... having 2 losses... BYU losing to a mediocre UCF team.
He doesn't bother me. There's some truth to the way we've won and it looks like we are sputtering. But what he doesn't admit is that good teams find ways to win despite themselves. So we've shown grit and talent. We've lost a little focus and have played an injured QB. But we are still standing. We are 3 inches from being undefeated. It has not been pretty or dominant like the last two years weee and that's not a fair comparison, in fact it's irrelevant. Are we the 4th best team not sure but not sure who I would put in front of us. There has been a lot of parity this year to me. ND is not that good at least they haven't done anything all that impressive, Alabama nah, ucla nope, Texas no way. I think they got it right on us it's just been a very bizarre year
@hoosiers94 Yep, it's easy to look at IN and call out the flaws, if you're just looking at them. When you start comparing them to the rest of this year's crop of top 10ish teams, they all have flaws and IU belongs among that group for still finding ways to win, despite their flaws. Most haven't and have dropped a game they shouldn't have.

It's petty, but how sweet would it be to win again, and piss EVERYBODY off, after how this year has gone!!
@jj_mcclure oh I left a comment if that’s the one that said their seeding is based on last year.
I commented then how about Alabama’s seeding being based on the past 50 years? No reply yet
That was tongue in cheek.Having watched us over the past month, I'm not sure they need to get us on the road.
However I am tired of the ridiculous whines so am going to state in my public comments, that they are afraid, very afraid.
And they should be.
And most definitely not based on last year.I commented then how about Alabama’s seeding being based on the past 50 years? No reply yet
For sure and for certain I've not read a USA Today in over 3 decades. Coach Cignetti has a good brand and USA Today has not had 1 in a very long time.
