Watching the SC SJS game (for some reason), and damn, there is no one in the stands. 15k tops.

Edited to add: USC is not as good as their ranking suggests right now. It's a long season, but so far they're not looking like a top 15 team against San Jose St

Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

@hooky they’re up 21-0 and missing their top WR. Offense looks fine, we’ll see what the defense is

It was 7-0 and they gave the ball up on downs at the 1 when I posted that.  SJS isn't as athletic, but their receivers have been open. Their QB can't find the open guy and when he has, he makes poor throws.  He just tried to find a guy downfield in double coverage when he had a guy wide open at the marker.

USC has played better in the on offense in the second quarter.  QB is hitting guys wide open now.

Of course we didn't look like world beaters against ODU last season, but ODU didn't look as lost as SJS does.

@hooky agreed. Their question has always been the defense

@thehoosierhuddle Now that I've ran my pie hole, I hope we dominate North Texas from the beginning so I don't look like a moron.

USC's defense looked like it lacked depth. The freshmen receivers looked really good.

Howard is about to kickoff on ABC. I am just watching to learn some players

See we get little Mendoza on ESPN this Thursday at 8 against Neon Deion.

Presume he was named the GT starter?

I saw a tweet at some point in the last week about him being the starter and a battle between a couple of other guys to be the backup

@middawg I’ll look at some GT boards, but wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t announce anything

Man, it was nice to shift out of all the preseason talk/predictions and into actual football.

@tammany It sure was! Some great games to watch too. Howard-Alabama A&M was fun, Hawaii-Stanford was great.
