On the first day of fall practice the Hoosiers received some great news on the recruiting front as offensive lineman Tyler ‘Bubba’ Jeffries committed to the cream and crimson. Jeffries, out of Alcoa, Tennessee, is a three-start prospect according to 247 Sports Composite rankings. He is listed at six-foot-five and 298 pounds.
IU beat out 16 other schools for Jeffries including Florida State, Mississippi State, Oregon, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
The Hoosiers offered Jeffries back in March and he was on campus in Bloomington for an unofficial visit in late July.
Jeffries is the third offensive lineman to commit to the Hoosiers in the 2023 class. At Alcoa he played tackle and has the athleticism to get into the second level while blocking. He has strong foot work and is physically able to push defensive linemen a few yards off the ball.
