Jordan Jusevitch, 6’0”, 200 pounds, Lowell, IN (Lowell High School), Safety, 247 Sports Composite Ranking: 3-star (83.09)

Securing talent from within the state of Indiana was a priority for IU head coach Tom Allen and his staff. They landed the state’s Mr. Football in Reese Taylor and with the signing of Lowell’s Jordan Jusevitch, they have also reeled in the runner-up in the annual award given to the state’s top football player. Jusevitch is a tackling-machine safety that excelled on and off the field for Lowell High School. The Red Devils went unbeaten during the regular season and lost in the state championship game against East Central. Jusevitch was a playmaker on both sides of the ball, with 19 career interceptions and several games with multiple touchdowns.

He projects as a safety that could eventually bulk up to play linebacker or stay at safety. I would anticipate that he will have an early impact on special teams and it would hardly be a surprise if he performed well enough to see the field as part of a talented secondary rotation. He’s not the best athlete and he’s not the fastest player but he is well-built, has a “nose for the ball” and generally makes plays. Hoosier Huddle writer Kris Shankle wrote about Jusevitch a couple of weeks ago (http://hoosierhuddle.com/hoosier-blog/iu-commit-jordan-jusevitch-is-flying-under-the-radar-to-bloomington/2017/11/21?rq=jordan%20jusevitch) and talked about his leadership skills and ability to overcome his doubters, no matter what’s in front of him. He was one of the earliest members of the 2018 class and IU “just feels like home” to this born and bred Hoosier.
