The Indiana Hoosiers continue to build their 2025 roster through the transfer portal. The latest addition is cornerback Ryland Gandy who played the last three seasons for the Pittsburgh Panthers. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

In 29 career games for the Panthers between 2022 and 2024, Gandy made 47 tackles and one pass defensed. He started all 13 games in 2024.

Earlier this season Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi had high praise for Gandy.

“Ryland Gandy has been spectacular. Ryland Gandy has been -- I know he came into our season being the number one guy. Again, another guy -- him and Rashad Battle both continue to get better every week.” Narduzzi said. “Ryland has been that guy that is steady, and he's not going to be perfect, but there's no player or corner for sure that's lined up and pressed out there all the way on an island.”

The Hoosiers have some depth at corner back now as starters D’Angelo Ponds and Jamier Johnson both return for 2025. There are a number of young corners who did not see the field much in 2024 waiting in the wings as well.

Gandy is listed at 6’0” and 180 pounds and came to Pitt from Buford, Georgia. Gandy is a sports communication major and actually took time to color commentate some local high school games when he could.
