Welcome, Hoosier fans to the 2024 Hoosier Huddle Countdown! Over the next 100 days the Hoosier Huddle staff will feature every player on the 2024 roster in anticipation of the season opener on August 31st against the FIU Golden Panthers. Today, we look at talented Ohio transfer Miles Cross.
COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: # 12 – Miles Cross
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 210 pounds
Hometown: Bowie, Maryland
High School: Rock Hill (South Carolina)
Class/Position: Senior / Wide Receiver
A unanimous three-star and top-50 recruit out of South Carolina, Cross spent the past three seasons at Ohio before following fellow Bobcat QB Kurtis Rourke to Bloomington.
Cross made an immediate impact for the Bobcats during his freshman season, appearing in all 12 games, catching 11 passes for 124 yards.
Cross continued his success on the field over the next two seasons, where he played in 25 games with 22 total starts. He caught 47 passes for 560 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore, including a two touchdown game vs. Buffalo and a 100-yard receiving game vs. Miami (OH).
As a junior, Cross had his best season to date, catching 47 passes for 560 yards and three touchdowns as well as completing a 7-yard pass to quarterback Kurtis Rourke. This season included two 100-yard receiving games and a streak of 14 consecutive games with a reception. All of this earned Cross a spot on Phil Steele’s All-MAC third-team list.
Coming into the 2024 season, Cross looks to continue his success and his 14 consecutive games with a reception streak. Given that he already has chemistry with probable starting QB Kurtis Rourke, Cross seems poised to do just that. Look for him to have a breakout season and help distinguish himself in IU’s extremely talented wide receiver room.
