Written By Ben Gillard (@Hoosier_Huddle)

Welcome, Hoosier fans to the 2024 Hoosier Huddle Countdown! Over the next 100 days the Hoosier Huddle staff will feature every player on the 2024 roster in anticipation of the season opener on August 31st against the FIU Golden Panthers. Today, we look into a pair of Hoosiers from Florida, Andison Coby and Josh Philostin.

COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: # 0 – JOSH PHILOSTIN

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 180 pounds

Hometown: West Palm Beach, Florida

High School: Cardinal Newman

Class/Position: Freshman / Cornerback

As a 3-star recruit out of Cardinal Newman, a Florida high school that has produced a host of NFL talent as well as Raptors point guard Scottie Barnes and golfer Brooks Koepka, Philostin hopes to be the next Cardinal Crusader turned pro athlete.

In high school, Philostin was a three-phase player who helped the Crusaders make the regional finals of the Florida High School Playoffs. Over the course of his career, he recorded 39 tackles, 18 pass breakups, 4 interceptions, and 2 pick-sixes on defense; 22 receptions, 349 yards, and 5 touchdowns on offense; as well as one kick returned for a touchdown. In addition to his accomplishments on the field, Philostin is also an accomplished track star who won a Florida high school gold medal in the 4x100.

Philostin is an explosive playmaker who will make an impact on whatever side of the ball he sees. The Hoosiers will definitely benefit from his speed and athleticism in the coming years. Look for him to see snaps on special teams this year as he gets his feet under him, with the potential to play on both sides of the ball as he gains experience.

The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff continues each and every day so be sure to check back often for the latest profile piece!
