Welcome, Hoosier fans to the 2024 Hoosier Huddle Countdown! Over the next 100 days the Hoosier Huddle staff will feature every player on the 2024 roster in anticipation of the season opener on August 31st against the FIU Golden Panthers. Today, we look into a pair of Hoosiers from Florida, Andison Coby and Josh Philostin.
COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: # 0 – ANDISON COBY
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 178 pounds
Hometown: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
High School: American Heritage
Class/Position: 5th Year Senior / Wide Receiver
Since transferring from Tennessee in 2022, Andison Coby has been up and down for the Hoosiers. In 2022, he exploded on the scene, filling in for injured receivers Cam Camper and D.J. Matthews. He appeared in all 12 games (10 starts) and had 18 receptions for 237 yards and a touchdown.
Coby saw his production and playing time decrease significantly in 2023, however, finding himself falling down the depth chart in favor of converted quarterback turned wide receiver Donaven McCulley. Coby did not start in any games and totaled 5 receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown.
Coby looks to be on the rebound this season, capping off spring ball with arguably the best performance of the spring game, where he had four receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown. He showed flashes of his deep-threat potential as well as his chemistry with both quarterbacks Tayven Jackson and Kurtis Rourke, connecting with Jackson for a 40-yard completion and with Rourke for a 64-yard completion. If he can keep this up, Coby will definitely be a name to watch as a true deep threat for the Hoosiers in 2024.
