2021 Countdown to Kickoff: 5 Days Part I (Dexter Williams)

Five days remain until kickoff of the 2021 IU football season. The Hoosiers will kick off the season against Iowa on Sept. 4th. Make sure to keep checking the Hoosier Huddle website each day for a new player in the 100-day countdown. The 5th player is red-shirt freshman Dexter Williams.

Height: 6’1’’

Weight: 213 pounds

Hometown: Macon,GA.

Position: QB

After redshirting his freshman year, Williams was going into spring practice expecting to get a lot of reps with Michael Penix still recovering from his torn acl. However, midway through spring practice this year Williams tore his acl.

Williams was not going to receive any playing time this year behind Penix and Jack Tuttle, but was going to be a key scout team player for the Hoosiers.

In high school, Williams was an all-state selection and was ranked the 21st dual-threat quarterback in his class according to 247sports.com.

This season Williams will look to recover from his injury in order to be ready for the 2022 season.
