The Indiana Hoosiers have successfully mined the Peach State for talent that has improved their defense. They landed a couple more Georgia natives in the 2017 class in LaDamion Hunt and Mo Burnam. Burnam is an interior linebacker that is considered a three-star prospect and he chose IU after de-committing from the Tennessee Volunteers. Burnam is a highly-regarded player that appears to be a terrific fit for Tom Allen’s dual-linebacker system.

“I really felt at home when I got to know the players and the coaches,” Burnam wrote in his announcement on Twitter. “The environment is beautiful, the students are one of a kind and I just love everything about the Hoosier family.”

Burnam is the third linebacker in this class as both Thomas Allen and Mike McGinnis are already enrolled at IU. Restocking the position will be helpful this season and the departure of Marcus Oliver means there will be an opportunity for one of two of the newcomers to crack the rotation. Landing a trio of players at the position was critical for the future though as Tegray Scales and Chris Covington will both graduate after the 2017 season. Burnam was a player pursued by many major football powers and he’s expected to be a starting linebacker in Bloomington before his career is complete.
