LeShaun Minor, 6’3”, 293, Indianapolis, IN (Ben Davis High School), DT, 247Sports Composite Ranking: 3-star (84.22)

The Indiana Hoosiers continued to beef up the defensive line with the addition of LeShaun Minor, yet another nearly 300-pound prospect that adds depth in the trenches. Minor is a three-star prospect from Indianapolis-area power Ben Davis High School. Indiana fans are hoping Minor’s addition is the beginning of a pipeline from Ben Davis to Bloomington as former Giants coach Tom Allen is now leading the Hoosiers.

Minor is ranked as the 12th best prospect in the state of Indiana and he chose IU over offers from Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa State. His stellar senior season earned him a spot on the Indy Star’s All-State team (along with fellow 2017 Hoosier Army members Bryant Fitzgerald and Caleb Jones). He joins a position group that is suddenly very deep and talented and it’s expected that he will either redshirt the 2017 season or battle for a spot in the rotation behind Nate Hoff and Patrick Dougherty. IU only lost Ralph Green from the 2016 defensive front but Mark Hagen and Tom Allen both made adding depth and ability along the line a priority for this class. Minor and a number of other defensive line prospects have ensured that, at least on paper, that mission has been a success.
