Two Top Prospects to Visit Bloomington Next Week
/Written By Sammy Jacobs
The Indiana Hoosiers added one of the top players in the state this week, and have a big opportunity coming up next week when two of the top 20 (according to 247 Sports) players in the state of Illinois visit Bloomington in Myles Boykin and Leon Thornton
Myles Boykin, a 4-star receiver out of Providence Catholic, is the second ranked player in Illinois and has offers from Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida, Michigan, Michigan State among other big time programs. Boykin has the size, at 6’4” 212 lbs. and the speed as he ran a 4.41 40-yard dash to be a big time producer at the BCS level. This would be an absolute monster grab for Kevin Wilson if he can convince Boykin IU is the place for him.
Leon Thornton, out of Montini, is another highly touted receiver out of the Land of Lincoln as 247 Sports has in ranked as the 17th best prospect in the state. Thornton is a smaller receiver compared to Boykin at 6’1” and 190 lbs. He has offers from Illinois, Connecticut, and Cincinnati in addition to several MAC schools.
Having both of these young men on campus in the same week should continue the momentum that the Hoosier staff has picked up in the last few weeks. Hopefully Wilson can get a verbal from one of them before they leave Bloomington. Indiana loses their top two receivers after this coming season to graduation and reinforcements would do wonders for the program.
