Trust and the belief that Indiana’s staff will maximize his talent and let him compete for carries are what led Aurbun Hills speedster David Holloman to commit to Tom Allen and his staff on April 30. “I chose Indiana because they believe me and you know they believe that I can be one of the top guys to come into the class as one of the leaders and ultimately my decision came down to getting a fair opportunity to compete. I feel like they can maximize my talent and development me” Holloman told Hoosier Huddle.

Holloman has a long relationship with Indiana running back coach Mike Hart said that the Indiana staff “had knew my brother(Joshuwa) and Mike Hart has known my family for a long time since then and I trust him and I trust Coach Sheridan and Coach Allen and Coach Wellman to make sure that we can develop me at the end of the day on and off the field.”

Joshuwa, who played at Cincinnati and Eastern Michigan, is currently working out for NFL teams.

The younger Holloman has trained at Rising Stars, which is an organization whose mission is “To deliver a highly detailed training environment, rigorous tutoring, and extensive recruiting process for the student athlete. Our goal is to help lay a solid foundation in a young man's life through discipline, academic's and respect. The harder one works, the harder it is to lose.”

Holloman had a great experience with the Rising Stars program saying, “Rising stars is a great resource to get college exposure and to develop on skills because you work with athletes the guy Reggie wynns who runs everything is great. He tries to gives kids an opportunity to compete and showcase their skills for colleges and I think everyone should join his program.”

Travel restrictions due to COVID-19 have made it impossible for recruits to make visits to campuses, but in Holloman’s case the relationships he had built and the ability for Indiana to give him the virtual experience he needed gave him enough of a feel to want to call Bloomington home.

“I had some good relationships with Indiana and I’ve had some virtual tours but in due time I’m sure I’ll get to campus” Holloman said.

In the meantime, Holloman has been training with his brother Joshuwa who has “all the stuff we need to keep going right speed equipment recovery and weights so we basically have a home gym.”
