Top Hoosier Target D.J. Edwards Can Do It All

Palm Beach Lakes H.S. wide receiver D.J. Edwards is leading his to new heights. The three-star receiver played a big role in the Rams 16-13 win over rival Glades Central as he made a difference in all three phases. On offense, he is his team's go to receiver as he was looked to whenever they needed a play to be made. On defense, he is used mostly in red zone situations against the opponent's biggest receiver. At 6'2", Edwards provides great length in the red zone. Edwards also returns kicks and punts in an effort to spark the Rams.

Edwards is drawing a lot of interest from around the country as he has 28 offers, including one from the Hoosiers. Indiana is in good shape with Edwards as he is set for an official visit on October 1st when the Hoosiers host Michigan State in prime time. When I saw him with Peegs.com writer Matt Weaver, he told us, “I talk to coach Johns like every day, he hit me up today and yesterday before the game. I actually watched the game (against FIU) last night. It was a close game, but I like how they get the outside receivers the ball.”

When asked what he wants to see on his official visit to Indiana, Edwards said, "I’m excited to check out the facilities, the team vibes, and the coaches and just the environment.”

The recruiting process is usually long and difficult and Edwards is “ going to take all five of my visits. I’m going to try and get all of those in before the season ends, but if not my decision will come after the season.”

Right now Edwards is scheduled to visit Illinois this weekend and would like to visit fellow Big Ten East member Penn State.
