The Indiana Hoosiers received some good news as they enter Bucket Week as they gain the commitment of three-star offensive guard Vinny Sciury. The Hoosiers 2020 class stands at 14 members and sits at 62nd nationally and 12th in the Big Ten.

Sciury, a six-foot-four 300-pound offensive guard, from Perry high school in Massillon, Ohio was previously committed to Toledo. Sciury made his decision on the sideline in Bloomington.

“Aw, dude, I’ve got to be a part of this,” Sciury said in an interview with the CantonRep.com.

Sciury is planning on graduating early and enrolling in time for spring practice.

Choosing the Hoosiers was more than just a football decision as Sciury is very high on the Kelley School of Business. “Indiana was just a better opportunity on the field and off of it,” he told the CantonRep

Sciury will give the Hoosiers a nasty streak that is a must have if one is going to be playing along the offensive line in the Big Ten. However, he will have to brush up his pass protection in order to fit in well with Indiana’s offense. Coming from a Wing-T offense, Sciury will need some time to learn IU’s offense and may be best off redshirting his first season, but being able to come in for spring practice will accelerate that process.
