Sources confirmed to Hoosier Huddle Saturday morning that the Indiana Football program will be hiring Kevin Wright to join the staff for the 2020 season as the tight ends coach. Newly named offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan served as IU’s tights coach last season, but relinquished that role to run the offense and coach the quarterbacks in 2020.

Wright was the head coach for high school powerhouse IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida for the past five seasons where he posted a 44-2 record. Wright resigned his post at IMG Academy in December.

Wright has deep ties to the state of Indiana as he previously coached at Carmel (Ind.) High School from 2010-14 and posted a 54-11 record in those five seasons. Wright’s experience goes beyond the high school level as he coached quarterbacks and was the offensive coordinator at Western Kentucky for two seasons (2007-08). Wright’s father, Bud Wright, is a legendary high school coach in Indiana.
