One of the best times of the year in college football season is when the head coach of a team awards a walk-on with a scholarship. On Friday Indiana Hoosier head coach Kevin Wilson announced that six walk-on players have received scholarships. These players are wide receivers Damon Graham, Isaiah Roundtree, tight ends Michael Cooper, Anthony Cosaro, center Colin Rahrig, and punter Erich Toth. Cosaro, Roundtree, Rahrig, and Toth had earned scholarships before and earned them once again for the 2014 season.
Wilson, a former walk-on at North Carolina had this to say about the players and the walk-on program. “As we continue to improve our program with strong recruiting classes, it is also important to continue to develop our walk-on program. These young men will be starters or vital contributors this season. They have worked hard to earn their scholarships and we appreciate their efforts”.
Having a good walk-on program is a great way for a team to continue to build depth and improve competition in practice
