Momentum Continues as Hoosiers Land LB Transfer Mangum-Farrar

The transfer portal has been an extremely productive tool for the Indiana Hoosiers and they continued to plug holes on the roster with the commitment of linebacker transfer Jacob Mangum-Farrar. The former Stanford Cardinal became the ninth portal addition to the 2023 recruiting class with more expected in the coming days.

Mangum-Farrar fills a position of need. He played in 26 games at Stanford with his best work coming in the past two seasons. The 2019 and 2020 seasons were mostly missed due to injury but in 2021, he had 41 tackles in 11 starts and this past season saw him start eight games and produce 44 tackles, two pass break-ups and one forced fumble.

Originally from Texas, Mangum-Farrar was a four-star recruit in the 2018 recruiting class. While he is unlikely to come in and be a game-wrecker from the linebacker position, he adds experienced depth to a group that desperately needed it. The defense has now replenished the secondary, defensive line with a couple of additions and the linebacker corps through the transfer portal. There is more work to be done on both sides of the ball though so continue to follow Hoosier Huddle for any developments as Tom Allen and his staff attempt to build a much-improved roster for the 2023 season.
