The Indiana Hoosiers have landed another in-state target as defensive end Madison Norris pledged a verbal commitment to Tom Allen and the Cream and Crimson. The Indianapolis product is a senior at Hamilton Southeastern and he is the third player from the state to join the 2018 recruiting class, joining Reese Taylor and Jordan Jusevitch. Norris is a weak-side defensive end with tremendous speed and he adds to a list of pass rushers that IU hopes can be a deep group that begins to wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks.

Norris is considered the top defensive end in the state and the number nine player overall. He chose the Hoosiers after a lengthy recruitment that saw offers and heavy interest from Minnesota, Purdue, Rutgers, Louisville and several others. Norris also excels in another sport as he is one of the state's top hurdlers. He joins Gavin McCabe and James Head as class of 2018 pass rushers. That group joins a number of pass rushers from the 2017 class as Mark Hagen and Tom Allen hope to build the kind of depth in the trenches that will allow them to close out competitive games against top Big Ten competition.

Norris made his announcement on Friday afternoon on Twitter saying, "First of all I want to thank God for giving me the abilities to play football. Then I want to thank all of the people who helped me grow as an athlete and a man. Thank you to all of the people who guided me the right way so I can be a successful student athlete, and thank you to HSE for providing me an opportunity to play football. Then finally I want to thank all 13 schools for recruiting me. I'm happy to say I've committed to...Indiana University."

The 2018 class now has 16 commitments. The staff continues to try and land a quarterback or two as well as reel in a few top targets they've been pursuing for a long time.
