'Hungry For More' Newest Commit Evan Parker Loves New Direction of IU Football

Evan Parker is the latest addition to the Hoosiers 2025 class. Parker was originally offered by former head coach Tom Allen and re-offered by new head man Curt Cignetti. While Parker was interested in IU under Allen, he is excited about the new direction of the program.

“The biggest thing that made me feel comfortable so early was the direction of the program and how I would get developed there.” Parker told Hoosier Huddle.

Parker did want to make it clear that the new direction was not a knock on the previous staff, just an endorsement of the new staff.

“I want to make it clear that just because things are going in a different direction doesn’t mean that I wasn’t interested before. There were some personal things that I wanted to make sure that were checked off that weren’t really getting checked off. Especially now though, all the things in my check list of standards have been met and a lot of them have exceeded my expectations.” Parker explained.

Parker is a three-star prospect and the 12th best prospect in Indiana according to 247Sports and the second offensive lineman committed to Indiana in the 2025 class.

The Carmel (Ind.) product is hungry for more and will try and push himself to get better during his senior season in 2024.

“I need to work on my explosion and overall just being a smarter offensive lineman.” Parker said. “Believe me, there are a lot of areas of improvement but I think those 2 things will make the transition so much smoother.”

There is still a long road to go before Parker puts on the pads in Bloomington, but he’s hungry to make an impact in the future for the Hoosiers.
