The defensive line is going to be a major priority in the 2017 recruiting class for the Indiana Hoosiers and adding a talent like Deron Irving-Bey, a defensive end from Flint, Michigan, would do wonders for that position group. IU offered him on Thursday.
Irving-Bey is a 247 Sports four-star prospect. At 6'5" and 271 pounds, he has the body size to make an instant impact for anyone he plays for. He holds offers from 15 schools including Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Iowa State, and Syracuse. The 247 Sports Crystal Ball has him heading to East Lansing to don the green and white.
Playing the defensive end with his hand in the ground in the three-man front his high school runs Irving-Bey shows great power in his rushing ability. He also has experience playing on the interior of the defensive line and could be a force in stopping the run game. Simply put, Irving-Bey is just a physical player who likes to hit people and would be an instant impact player for the Hoosiers. Looking at his size, Irving-Bey would likely project as a defensive tackle at the next level.
