Hoosiers Land UNC WR Emery Simmons via Transfer Portal

The Hoosiers picked up their fourth commitment of the day Sunday evening when UNC transfer wide receiver Emery Simmons announced he was “locked in 10 toes” on Twitter. Simmons was once an IU commit way back in 2018, but decided to attend North Carolina instead.
Simmons played in three seasons with the Tar Heels and 516 yards on just 30 receptions. The Hoosier wide receiver room was decimated by graduation and the transfer portal, so adding a veteran receiver who averages 17.2 yards per reception is a good get. Simmons was listed at six-foot-1 and 190 pounds in 2021. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
