Hoosiers Defensive Line Gets Thinner as Philip Blidi Enters the Portal

The Indiana Hoosiers were going to be thin up front on defense already this spring as the defensive line suffered some attrition and some returning players are recovering from off-season surgery. On Monday night Philip Blidi, in line to start on the interior line, entered the transfer portal.

Blidi joined the Hoosiers in 2023 after transferring from Texas Tech and became one of the Hoosiers best defensive linemen. He also fostered a strong bond with former Hoosier head coach Tom Allen when Allen helped Blidi’s wife through thee birth of their second child. Last season Blidi played in all 12 games and registered 30 total tackles including four tackles for loss.

The Hoosiers will have to look in the portal for depth on the interior of the defensive line when it opens later this spring.
