Florida WR D.J. Edwards Talks About His IU Offer

Written By Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)

D.J. Edwards, a six-foot-two receiver from Palm Beach Lakes, Florida picked up an offer from Indiana last night as the Hoosiers look to continue targeting bigger wideouts. Edwards is unranked by the major recruiting sites as of the moment but holds offers from schools like Penn State, Pittsburgh, Kentucky, Iowa State, West Virginia, and several other schools. Edwards spoke to Hoosier Huddle Monday night about his offer from Indiana.

Edwards called Indiana a "really good passing team, they air it out a lot (and) get their receivers the ball." The Hoosiers led the Big Ten in passing in 2015 with 293.8 yards per game. That kind of aerial attack that makes receivers salivate.

Edwards main point of contact with IU has been offensive coordinator Kevin Johns. He sees himself playing the 'X' or 'Y' receiver.

Edwards has the speed to play on the outside, as he can run by defenders and has long, easy strides. He also has the toughness and elusiveness to catch balls across the middle. He also played defense in high school. Edwards told us the biggest thing he needs to work on are his leadership skills.

Edwards's season starts and August. He does not plan on making a college choice until after the season as he wants to "enjoy the process".
