The early signing period for college football is now open and prospects and transfers are inking letters of intent all over the country. Hoosier Huddle will have profiles on all the football signees as well as an update from head coach Tom Allen.

The Hoosiers signed offensive lineman Tyler ‘Bubba’ Jeffries on Wednesday morning. Jeffries is a three-star prospect out of Alcoa, Tennessee. He stands at six-foot-five and tips the scales at a listed 298 pounds. Jeffries had 16 other offers including six Power Five teams.

Jeffries started on the varsity as an eighth grader at Greenback High School where he spent two seasons on the varsity squad. At Alcoa Jeffries earned all-state honors as a junior. He was named all-state by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association in 2019 (Class 1A) and 2021 (Class 3A) and all-state by the Tennessee Football Coaches Association in 2021 (Class 3A). He was also named all-region during all five high school seasons. The cherry on top of his well decorated career was helping Alcoa win three-straight Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Class 3A state titles.

Jeffries was committed under former IU offensive line coach Darren Hiller and despite Hiller’s departure, Jeffries stuck to his commitment. The hope is an infusion of young talent and a new offensive line coach can help turn the offense around.
