Early Signing Day 2022 Profile: Offensive Lineman Max Longman

Written by Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)

The early signing period for college football is now open and prospects and transfers are inking letters of intent all over the country. Hoosier Huddle will have profiles on all the football signees as well as an update from head coach Tom Allen.

The Hoosiers received some veteran offensive line help and they got that in UMass transfer Max Longman, who signed with IU on Wednesday.

Longman, originally from Michigan, signed with UMass (under Walt Bell) as part of the 2019 class and is currently listed at 6-4.5 and 295 pounds. He missed the 2019 season due to injury. In 2020 he started all four of UMass’s games at right guard and then made all 12 starts in 2021. In 2022, Longman appeared in 11 games (eight starts) for the Minutemen at left tackle.

His ability to play both inside and outside on the line makes him a valuable piece for the Hoosiers.
