#CrimsonAmry15: Joey Belden is Number Six
/Written By Sammy Jacobs (@sammyj108)
The more the merrier they say. Coach Kevin Wilson and his staff continued their big day Wednesday when defensive end Joey Belden committed to the Hoosiers. Belden has been favored to commit to the Hoosiers since his recruitment began, though he held offers from a handful of MAC schools including Bowling Green, Ball State, and Western Michigan. The Avon, Indiana native is ranked as a 3-star prospect by 247 Sports and stands at 6’3” and weighs in at 250 lbs. Belden is the sixth member of the 2015 recruiting class, which has been dubbed the CrimsonArmy15 by fellow recruit Tommy Stevens. Belden is also ranked as the 20th best player in the state. Coach Wilson and his staff have done a great job trying to keep the top players from Indiana in the state, while also going into surrounding states and grabbing top 20 talents.
Belden looks to have the speed and agility to play either an end position or an outside linebacker in the new 3-4 defense. Coach Kevin Wilson personally recruited him, along with coaches William Inge and Larry McDaniel. If this run on commits continue the Hoosiers’ class should surpass the 2012 as the best in recent history.
