 2019 Countdown - #48

Name – Robert Tolbert

Position – Linebacker (Redshirt Freshman)

Hometown – Murphy, Texas (The Episcopal School of Dallas)

Height – 5’11”

Weight – 224

In under seven weeks the Indiana Hoosiers will be kicking off their 2019 campaign against the Ball State Cardinals at Lucas Oil Stadium. Today’s Countdown to Kickoff featured player is Robert Tolbert, a walk-on linebacker from Murphy, Texas.

Tolbert joined the IU program during the 2018 season as a walk-on after averaging 10.5 tackles a game his final two seasons at the Episcopal School of Dallas. He also played two years of basketball. He was an All-North Zone and All-SPC selection for his performance on the field. Off the field, Tolbert excelled as well as a member of the National Honor Society.

Tolbert is a very quality walk-on and after redshirting the 2018 season, should be able to provide special teams and scout team depth.

In honor of the late Terry Hutchens, we are including a daily IUFB trivia question from his book So You Think You Know Indiana University Football. Hutch is dearly missed and this is our way of keeping his memory with us this season. Please leave your answers in the comments section.

How many head football coaches has Indiana had since the beginning of the 1980 season?
