Wise picked IU over offers from nine other FBS programs, including Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Illinois State, Miami (Ohio), Toledo, Tulane, and Western Michigan. In an interview with Matt Weaver of Peegs, Wise talked about the Indiana football program:
"I really like what they have going on up there and I love the culture they are creating. What really has stood them out from other schools has been the coaches. The coaches are fantastic. I got a chance to meet every single coach at IU and I couldn’t be more impressed. The linebacker’s coach, Coach (Kane) Wommack, I love everything about him and what he has in store for the future.”
Wise is a young Cam Jones in terms of athleticism. At 6-2, 210 pounds, he is smaller, but with a couple years of development at the hands of David Ballou and Dr. Matt Rhea, he will make a solid impact as a linebacker at Indiana.
